Liposuction

Liposuction is an operation method which dissolves and removes accumulated fat in specific parts of the body is via a special vacuum device. The number of fat cells in the body of an adult remains constant throughout life.

Weight gain occur via the changes in the fat cell sizes. Since liposuction remove fat cells from the body and decrease the number of fat cells, it reduces the number of fat cells in the body permanently.

However liposuction is not a weight loss operation, it is a body contour correction procedure. It is appropriate for stubborn accumulations of fat placed in stomach, waist, hips, inner and outer thighs since these areas are usually resistant to diet and exercise.

In liposuction surgery the stubborn fatty tissue is removed via metal tubes 2-5 mm in diameter called cannulas. These cannulas inserted into the skin through the incisions a few millimeters long and the tubes are attached to the vacuum device. The process of vacuuming fat continues until the desired body contour has been achieved.

Recently new technologies has been started to use in liposuction known as VASER. It is the latest in advanced techniques that uses ultrasound waves to break down the fatty tissue and remove it. VASER has advantages like providing skin tightening effect and fast recovery time.
